Design, support and implement the installation of network devices including routers and switches as well as supporting services such as DNS, DHCP, Firewalls , Intruder Prevention systems and Proxy servers. Monitor and report on network health.


Duties

  • Resolve complex network or network related issues in a timely manner
  • Provide expertise in network operation and troubleshooting
  • Design and implement networks including physical connections, layer 2 topologies and layer 3 topologies
  • Design and implement DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, Intruder Prevention systems and Proxy server support
  • Analyze network performance metrics
  • Ensure network designs compliance to Service Level Agreements
  • Promote and adhere to network design standards
  • Design and implement and technologies such as OSPF, BGP, HSRP, VRRP, Spanning Tree and Etherchannel
  • Design and implement Quality of Service (QOS) policies
  • Upgrade and replace network hardware where appropriate
  • Participate in regular network health check and process review per the Compliance requirement
  • Perform project work such as upgrades and new installations
  • Create and maintain project and site documentation
  • Work with lead client/business manager to understand project plans and scope for assigned role on engagement
  • Provide IP telephony support
  • Maintain standards for Unified Communications Solutions
  • Support security and network management systems
  • Support resolution and root cause analysis of incidents or problems escalated from the Network Operations Center
  • Works with management to define network business needs and implements effective enterprise-wide network strategies
  • Coordinates with multiple vendors/departments to procure network-related hardware, software, and services
